Jenissa Graham
ASSOCIATE LITERARY AGENT
-
Jenissa Graham’s love of storytelling began in childhood and grew into a career in publishing. She started as a Fall 2020 intern at Writers House before joining their subrights department full time in January 2021 as Global Licensing and Media Rights Assistant. In April 2022, she moved to BookEnds, where she now works as an Associate Agent. She represents a range of authors, including USA Today bestselling author, Page Getz, and is passionate about amplifying underrepresented voices, with a special focus on championing BIPOC authors and stories that broaden the space for diverse perspectives in publishing.
A first-generation Jamaican, Jenissa was born in upstate New York, raised in Georgia, and is a proud alumna of Georgia State University, where she earned her B.A. in English, Creative Writing. She currently lives in New York. When she isn’t reading submissions, plotting new story ideas, or adding to her ever-growing TBR, she can be found snacking, stress-planting, or rewatching Criminal Minds.

Jenissa acquires in middle grade, YA, New Adult, and traditional Adult categories. Across those categories, she is looking for high-concept Fantasy and near-future Dystopia with immersive worldbuilding, but always grounded in character-driven narratives and dynamic arcs. Mysteries set in fresh, under-explored environments, where characters drive the tension as much as the plot. Genre-blending Horror with layered atmosphere. Coming-of-age contemporaries exploring first crushes, friendships, breakups, or multigenerational family stories, all centered on strong emotional journeys.
Favorite elements to see in submissions: Dual timelines, epistolary format, unreliable narrators, and morally gray characters.
