Jessica Faust
CEO & Founder
In 1999, Jessica Faust founded BookEnds because she loved working in publishing, but wanted to do things her own way. She believes strongly in the power of books to open readers up to new worlds and experiences and has created an agency with a mission of bringing more underrepresented and marginalized voices into publishing. Jessica takes great pride in advocating for authors, creators, and the team she works with.
Jessica is no longer taking on new clients, instead focusing her attention on supporting and growing the BookEnds team and working in new and innovative ways to continue to build careers for all of our clients. She takes her advocacy to the broader publishing community by serving on the Board for AALA–The Association of American Literary Agents.
Jessica began her career as an acquisitions editor at Berkley Publishing, Macmillan, and Wiley. In addition to nearly 15 years of blogging, Jessica has had a regular role on the BookEnds YouTube channel, Instagram, and TikTok; has taught at New York University’s Continuing Education Program; written a publishing column; and has been honored by several different publishing organizations.
While her heart will always be in Minnesota, Jessica now lives in New Jersey. Outside of BookEnds, her passions include kettlebell lifting, walking Olive, skiing, paddle boarding, cooking, traveling, reading other people’s books, and generally laughing with friends and family.
