Born and raised in Osaka, Japan, Keiko Hayner is a full-time illustrator currently based out of Texas. She received her degree in graphic design from Osaka University of Art and has a number of picture books forthcoming, including her author-illustrator debut FOOTPRINTS IN SNOW (Abrams, 2027). Her style can best be described as whimsical, fun, detailed, and silly. She was chosen as one of the four illustrators to participate in the 2026 Maurice Sendak Foundation’s Sendak Fellowship and regularly participates in SCBWI events.
