Nicole Wong is an illustrator based in Massachusetts. Her ancestors include a not-so-nice Chinese governor, an Irish witch, and the French doctor for whom the guillotine was named. Nicole’s art is inspired by the mix of cultures in her family and the city around her, a diverse factory town where history is never too far in the past. It has filled her with a love of research to help readers today connect to these stories. She loves to imagine the hundreds of secret stories happening in the backgrounds of her paintings and hides them for readers to find, or to imagine themselves.
